Latest reviews of EGDR808 Drum Machine HD app for iPhone and iPad

Hmmmm.
Sounds good.... But driving me nuts cause I cant save any of the beats I create. Maybe its an iPad 2 issue... Not sure , but would love a fix. So 3 stars til I can save my beats...
Looks neat, but who knows
No support forum, no instructions, just a couple of screenshots explaining the main controls. Could be good, but ya gotta figure it out yourself. Theres better for the price.
It works now!
This is the 808 for the iPad... I just wish there were panning for each instrument. Sound is amazing!!!! If youve owned an 808 like I did you wont go wrong other than panning.
Not ready yet.
Great interface. Good sound. Thats where it ends. The main flaw of this app, and I have no slightest idea how it is possible, is that the tempo is incorrect. Let me explain. I chose 124BPM and recorded pattern 1 and 2 in Logic DAW. First, I could swear, it sounded like tempo was floating. When I truncated the waveform and looped four measures - loop had a glitch as the length of the waveform exceeded 4 measures of 124BPM and the attack of the kick that had to land on the beat 1 measure 5 was in the very end of the measure 4. This is unusable. The drum machine HAS to be exactly that - A Machine. For better or for worse. You also have to be able to record your own patterns and do some other things that drum machines, and TR-808 did. Until then - it is a toy for $0.99 cents.... Hope it will be improved, as there is a great promise in this little app.
Unusable on iPad mini
Buffer under runs are all I hear. I was able to get things to play normally 1 time since I have purchased the app. The pattern handling is not intuitive and the tempo is very eager to jump to 120 bpm. On a real 808 the tempo is independent of pattern so there is a design flaw here that changes the tempo when the pattern is changed. I know enough about DSP and core audio to know that building a faithful reproduction of a tr808 is a non trivial task, but this software is not production ready. Its a shame too as the UI looks great and I had been really excited by this app. I will hope a later version corrects these issues and makes this a usable app. If so I will gladly post a new review to praise its glory.
